ANMC21 member cities promote projects jointly to tackle common problems of major cities.

　・Promotion of Development of a small to medium-sized Jet Passenger Plane

　【Summary】
　 In order to meet a growing demand for air travel in Asia, the development of a small to medium-sized
　 jet passenger plane of Asian origin is promoted. Conferences and symposiums attended by official
　 from national governments, entrepreneurs and researchers are held and joint appeals are made.

　・“Welcome to Asia” Campaign

　【Summary】
　 Through activities such as the implementation of joint campaigns and information dissemination
　 through a dedicated website, the attractions of Asia's distinctive tourism resources are publicized
　 to promote tourism in Asia

　・Promotion of Asian Business and Investment Projects

　【Summary】
　 Through the use of international forums and the internet etc., this project aims to accelerate the
　 exchange of information about business and investment such as socio-economic conditions and
　 economic prospects.

　・ICT Initiatives for Urban Development

　【Summary】
　 Through the formulation of strategies for developing e-government and broadband infrastructure,
　 this project aims to explore the concept of a digital city. The member cities will discuss ICT,
　 share knowledge and experiences, and will announce their outcomes.

　・Development of Affordable, Safe and Fast Mass Housing Technology Project

　【Summary】
　 The Project involves sharing of knowledge and experiences in mass housing or developing
　 technologies that can produce large quantity of cheap but safe housing units daily.

　・Urban and Global Environment Problems

　【Summary】
　 Through the exchange of information, the project aims to improve the state of atmospheric pollution
　 and resolve health problems by upgrading technology and policy for dealing with vehicular emission.
　 In order to curb global warming, this project aims to study energy policies feasible for the cities of
　 Asia such as reduction of CO2 emissions and prevalence of bio-fuels and other new forms of energy.
　 It will also undertake exchanges in and provision of technical information.

　・Network for Crisis Management

　【Summary】
　 Experience and knowledge concerning crisis management are shared and accumulated among
　 participating cities and human resources for crisis management are developed.

　・Countermeasures to Combat Infectious Diseases in Asia

　【Summary】
　 In order to build a permanent, stable and secure network for health professionals (doctors and
　 researchers), a communication system among administrative, research and medical institutions of
　 participating cities is established so that major cities can act quickly to any outbreak of infectious
　 disease in Asia.

　・Asian Performing Arts Festival

　【Summary】
　 This project enhances mutual understanding and encourages cultural exchange between Asian cities
　 through performing arts.

　・Women's Participation in Society

　【Summary】
　 Goal of this project is to compile information on existing measures regarding women's issues and to
　 deliver services and information through a single window in each city. This project also intends to hold
　 the representative women's seminar and conduct various research projects as well as cooperative
　 activities regarding women's policy.

　・Youth-to-Youth Program -Creating Enterprising Originals

　【Summary】
　 The participants will explore how to develop their own city's tourism industry from a youth perspective.
　 This project will also promote more active exchange to help build a network among the youth of
　 the member cities.
　 Tokyo will invite junior players and trainers from Asia to participate in junior sports exchange
　 events in order to raise the competitive skills of the players.

　・Staff Capacity Enhancement Program

　【Summary】
　 Various fields of training including water, sewerage, urban city planning, environment and AIDS are
　 conducted.
